ACT I: THE FIELD

A shared hallucination. A love story. A maybe.

Hi. I'm Dave, and I don't know what this is yet.

Maybe it's a book. Maybe it's a short story that collapses under its own weight. Maybe it disappears from the internet tomorrow. Or maybe it's the start of something that changes me—and I don’t say that lightly.

What I do know is that this is real writing in real time.

No polish, no publishing contract, no neat little bow.

Just me, sharing a story I’m still discovering.

It begins with a man and a woman in a Texas field, on LSD, chasing a kind of honesty neither of them thought they’d earn. The field isn’t the point. And also, maybe it is.

If you want to read along, react, or shape where this goes, I’m sharing the drafts chapter-by-chapter over on Substack (for free). You can comment, critique, ask questions, or just lurk. I'm building this in the open, and I want you there with me.

P.S. If you're reading this and thinking, “Is this guy really writing a love story about bee vision, fantasy football, and oral sex in a flower field?” The answer is yes. And maybe something more
.
